Joan Fenold, MFT, is in private practice in San Francisco, Berkeley and Marin County where she provides individual and couples therapy as well as consultation. She has over twenty-four years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist and Marriage & Family Therapist.
Her approach utilizes psychodynamic and intersubjective-relational perspectives. She developed her understanding of intersubjectivity from years of study at the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis North and completed the two-year Supervision/Consultation Study Program at The Psychotherapy Institute, Berkeley. She also has an interest in Jungian views.
Most recently Joan completed the Advanced Training in Couples Therapy at The Tavistock Center for Couples Relations in London.
Joan has an on-going practice of meditation and has been studying Buddhism, Taoism and non-dual understanding for over twenty-five years...the wisdom from these teachings informs her work.
